Access to information is a vital key in developing the individuals potentiality. The College has provided a central library consisting more than 10,000 books and adequate number of journals. All the latest editions of books both for reference and text are available in this library. It also subscribes to various newspaper and periodicals for the information and update of their knowledge. The journals of both National and International, related to all Medical subjects are also subscribed. The library is spread over 130 sq.mtrs. and has the seating capacity of 50 students in its reading sections.
The libraries in the faculties and the departments offer more specialized collections of books, Journals and periodicals for particular subjects.
Kashmir Tibbia College, Hospital & Research Centre Library has always been striving hard to meet the expectations of its users. The library is run by well qualified professionals assisted by adequate support staff. However, there has been a long felt need to bring clarity and uniformity in procedures and practices of the library and resource centre so as to further improve its efficiency, utility and services. A need was that this resource center must have an operational manual where in all the rules, regulations, procedures are clearly spelt out. Library staff and the members of College Council discussed the matter meticulously and identified several factors that has to be included in the draft. After series of meetings with all stake holders where the procedures and functions and policies were deliberated in detail, over and again and through a validation process, Kashmir Tibbia College, Library Manual was drafted and finally accepted and adopted as a policy document.
