Admission

The selection for BUMS Course for all seats is made through National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET). The NEET is National level Undergraduate Medical Entrance exam, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), for selection of candidates to various Medical Courses including BUMS Course. Once the examination is conducted, a list of qualified candidates in order of All India Rank based on the score obtained in the examination is prepared by NTA and result is declared. A copy of the result is given to the Directorate General of Health Services (Medical Education Cell), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India to provide the same to the admitting authorities.

In case of J&K State, the admitting authority is J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) which is also the state designated authority for counseling. The BOPEE thereafter short list the qualified candidates (keeping in view the ratio of seats available and the number of qualified candidates). The short-listing is followed by invitation of applications for counseling. On the basis of counseling and marks / merit obtained in the NEET (All India Rank), a selection list of candidates, to be admitted in the College, is drawn by the BOPEE and forwarded to the College for their admission to BUMS Course, in a given academic session.
